NU Alumni Association plans bowl travel plan

The Nebraska Cornhuskers will take on the Washington Huskies on December 30 in the Holiday Bowl.  Now fans are looking at options to get to San Diego for the rematch.

Sound familiar?  Husker fans saw this bowl game last season and the opponent just a few months ago, but that's not stopping them from going bowling.

Jim Nissen of Lincoln says, “It's a little bit disappointing, although it's a decent bowl and it's a good place to travel.”

Nissen says he'll be there, if the price is right.

The Nebraska Alumni Association is offering a four day, three night trip to San Diego.  The package includes lodging, tickets, a pre-game party and the opportunity to sit down with Husker sports writers and former players.  The price varies, depending on how large the group your traveling with is and if you plan to fly or drive.

Brooke Heck is with the Alumni Association and says it's a great option.  “We take care of all the details.  The only thing they have to worry about is cheering for the Huskers.”

The trip is open to anyone.

As of Monday night, there were about 30 seats left on the flight out of Lincoln.  Heck says if necessary, the Alumni Associate will book another one out of Omaha.

Travel agencies will also have bowl packages available to fans.
