NU Baseball beats Doane 6-1
Kurt Farmer went 2 for 3 with four RBIs and Kash Kalkowski was 3 for 4 in Nebraska's 6-1 victory over Doane on Wednesday.
Farmer's two-out, two-run single in the seventh gave the Cornhuskers (18-9) a 5-0 lead and helped send them to their ninth straight home win. Nebraska starter Tyler Niederklein (3-1) worked two scoreless innings before giving way to Sean Yost, the first of five relievers. Michael Korsakas' RBI groundout in the ninth produced the only run for the NAIA Tigers (14-8).
Jacob Bartek (0-1), the first of seven Doane pitchers, allowed two runs on one hit over two innings. Nebraska and Doane played for the first time since 1992.
