NU Baseball Beats South Dakota State 8-3

Patric Tolentino homered and Kale Kiser went 3 for 4 as Nebraska defeated South Dakota State 8-3 on Tuesday.

The Cornhuskers broke open a 4-2 game with four runs in the sixth inning. Chad Christensen hit an RBI single and later scored on a balk, and Kurt Farmer's sacrifice fly came before Tolentino slugged his first homer of the year to left field. Tyler Niederklein (1-1) allowed two hits over four shutout innings.

Sean Yost, Chase Adams and Zach Hirsch finished for the Huskers (10-6). Kolton Emery (1-1) pitched 5 1/3 innings and allowed eight runs, six earned, on nine hits. The Jackrabbits (3-9) play their first 17 games on the road.
