Husker Fans will have their first chance to meet the 2015-16 Nebraska men’s and women’s basketball teams this Thursday, Oct. 29, during Nebraska Basketball Live.

The free event, which takes place at Pinnacle Bank Arena, has events for basketball fans of all ages. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and Nebraska Basketball Live features a chance to watch the Huskers practice, as men’s coach Tim Miles and his program will practice from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

While the practice is going on, kids can show off their Halloween costumes and trick or treat on the concourse with Husker student-athletes. As of Tuesday, over 75 Husker athletes across over a dozen teams will be on the concourse playing games with kids and passing out candy. In addition, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., the Husker women’s team will be on the North Concourse signing autographs and passing out season posters.

The program begins shortly after 6:30 p.m. with the introductions of both programs, skill contests involving men’s and women’s players as well as selected fans from the audience. The event will culminate with a 3-point contest between players from both teams and selected fans. In addition, one lucky UNL student will have chance to shoot for $20,000.

The Husker men’s team will close the event with an autograph session from 7:30 to 8 p.m. Fans will be able to pick up the new 2015-16 team posters for the first time at the event.

The Husker women’s first exhibition game is Sunday, Nov. 1, against UNK with tip-off set for 2 p.m., while the men will host Northern State in their only exhibition game on Monday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m. Both programs open the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 14.
