NU-Missouri suspended in the fifth
The Nebraska baseball team's series opener against Missouri has been suspended in the fifth inning and will be continued Friday at Noon CST at Hawks Field. Due to the weather forecast, Game Two will begin immediately following the completion of the first game, not at the designated 6:35 p.m. start time.
The Huskers lead the Tigers, 3-1, with no outs in the top of the fifth inning. Umpires suspended the action at 7:48 p.m., after lightening struck in the Lincoln area, followed by heavy showers. At 8:30 p.m., a decision was made to suspend the game until Friday afternoon.
Nebraska scored a season-high three runs in the first inning to take a 3-0 lead before Missouri scored a run in the top of the fourth. Cody Asche is 2-for-2 with an RBI, while Kash Kalkowski hit a triple and went 1-for-2 with an RBI. Husker starter Logan Ehlers has gone 4.0 innings and given up one run on five hits while striking out three and walking four. There will be a 1-2 count on Missouri's Blake Brown when the game is resumed Friday afternoon with no outs in the top of the fifth inning.
Tickets from Thursday night's game will be valid for general admission to both of Friday's games. Reserved tickets will require a Game 2 ticket.
