Gipson Named Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week
Nebraska sophomore Levi Gipson was honored by the Big Ten Conference on Wednesday as he was selected as the league's men's track athlete of the week.
Gipson won the 400 meters at the Arizona State Invitational last weekend, posting a time of 46.92. His time ranks first in the Big Ten this season and third in the nation. Today's honor marks his first outdoor track weekly award of his career and Nebraska's first Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week honor.
The Huskers will hit the road this weekend as they travel to the Arkansas Spring Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., for competition on Friday, April 4 and Saturday, April 5.
