Ukaoma Named Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week

Nebraska senior Miles Ukaoma was honored by the Big Ten on Wednesday as he was selected as the league’s Track Athlete of the Week.

Ukaoma finished second in the elite section of the 400-meter hurdles at the Mt. SAC Relays last weekend. He posted a season-best time of 49.76, a mark that ranks first in the Big Ten and third in the nation this season. The honor marks the first outdoor track weekly award of his career.

The Huskers host the Pre-Drake Meet today at Ed Weir Stadium before a busy weekend of action at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa and the Triton Invitational in San Diego, Calif.
