Omaha teacher killed in accident, leaves behind two children
Omaha police continue to investigate a tragic accident that killed a school teacher Wednesday.
Police say alcohol use and speeding are not suspected of the man whose sport utility vehicle struck 45-year-old Stacey Klinger around 4:10 p.m. Wednesday.
Witnesses told police that Klinger was walking across a street near Omaha South High Magnet School when she was hit.
Family and friends now mourn the loss of Klinger who was also a wife and mother of two children. Klinger taught at Omaha's South High School.
“The reality of it will take a week or months for that to settle in,” says Klinger's best friend Maria Walinski.
Stacey's colleague and friend says Stacey was going to be the matron of honor at her wedding this weekend.
Police identified the driver as Salvador Jimenez. Witnesses says after the crash, Jimenez performed CPR and did everything he could to help Stacey. Jimenez was questioned by police after the accident. So far, no charges have been filed.
