Omaha Woman Locked in House

An Omaha woman was locked in her house for nearly three years by her abusive husband.

She was only allowed to leave to go to work. It was there that she was injured and needed to go to the hospital. Once at the hospital, she was able to alert authorities to her situation.

Here in Lincoln, Friendship Home is a shelter that helps abused women. They are holding several fund raisers in the next month.

“Stuff the Bus,” will take place Friday August 8th and Saturday August 9th at the South Wal*Mart. They will be filling a StarTran bus with home needs like tooth brushes, pillows, etc. You can drop off donations anytime on those days.

“Safe Quarters,” will take place on September 28th. It will be a door to door fundraiser. Fifteen hundred volunteers will be going around, asking for quarters as donations. Friendship Home still could use some volunteers to serve as team captains and recruit teams.
