Police quickly rushed to the scene of a stabbing Thursday night in Lincoln. Police surrounded the house near 69th and Vine after  neighbor heard screams and called 9-1-1.

Lincoln Police say they don’t have much information right now, but what they do know is this:  a man and woman were taken to the hospital with stab wounds. The man was rushed into surgery immediately with life threatening injuries. The woman also had a stab wound, but police aren’t exactly sure what led up to them being called. They say it’s a domestic situation. One neighbor heard the commotion and says it upset the whole neighborhood.

"I was just standing outside smoking when all of the sudden I heard a man screaming but I didn’t think much of it because we have a lot of kids around here, so I didn’t really think anything  of it-  I went inside and about 10 minutes later 11 police cars showed up. It really freaked us out," Emma Heinrichs, who lives nearby, said.

Lincoln Police say they’ll be on scene to investigate for a while.

Several children were left in the house, but a parent is there to take care of them.
