Parent Forum Discusses L.P.S. Budget
A forum for parents was held at Lincoln East High School Wednesday night to discuss the impact that L.P.S. budget-cuts might have next year. Those cuts have left the Lincoln Public School district about $9 million short for the next school-year. Lincoln East is just one of the City's public schools that will feel the pinch.
Parents listened to L.P.S. officials tell about how State-mandated cutbacks will mean fewer teachers, classes and staff-members next fall, even though there will actually be more students. There will also be fewer staff-members like campus security guards. Lincoln East High is just one of the many schools that will have just one campus security guard, instead of two next school-year. And that's just one example of the cuts that will be made.
