Petition For City Budget

With all the controversy surrounding the mayor's proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year, one Lincoln woman is taking action.

Rosina Paolini has been collecting signatures from fellow Lincoln residents for the last three weeks. Her petition opposes the possible cutting of some city services, including public library and StarTran bus hours, city pools and parks and even fire station eleven.

Paolini says the response has been mostly positive, “there are a few naysayers who say, 'keep cutting. Don't increase my taxes, but the reality is that we need an increase in revenue in the city.”

The city will meet with the public to discuss the budget on August 8th.  Paolini is planning to be there with her petition.
