Pit Bull Shot By Lincoln Police

Lincoln police say an officer had to use his gun to defend himself against a pit bull near 36th and W street

Around 11:15a.m. Sunday, Lincoln Police say the officer was serving an arrest warrant at the residence.  When the officer tried to approach the house, a bit bull charged at him. The officer fired 2 shots at the dog, only one bullet hit the animal in the shoulder.

Police said the pitbull appeared vicious. The dog is alive and is being treated at the vet.
