Plane Headed For North Platte Crashes, All Survive
A corporate jet bound for Nebraska from Saint Louis, crashed in Illinois Wednesday morning, skidding about the length of a football field and came to rest in a farm field.
According to reports, the plane was forced to make an emergency landing after it flew through a flock of birds shortly after takeoff. The plane crashed and burst into flames. Amazingly, all four people on board survived. Emergency officials say the pilot fought to keep the fully fueled plane upright, and away from buildings. And after it crashed, witnesses say three of the people on board, along with a fourth person who arrived on scene, freed the pilot.
None of the victims are from Nebraska and no word on why the plane was going to North Platte.
