Lincoln Police are investigating three armed robberies that happened last night and early Saturday morning.

LPD Capt. Don Scheinost says the first one took place near 20th and F streets just after 10 p.m. Friday. He says two men were walking in the area when they were approached by two male suspects, one of which had a black handgun. Police say the suspects demanded the victims’ belongings, and ran away. Both suspects were wearing white bandanas over their faces. They got away with cash and cell phones.

Just before 3 a.m., police were called to 13th and R on reports of another robbery. Officials say three individuals approached a male and a female, who were walking in the area, and demanded their possessions. Scheinost says one of the suspects hit the male in the face, knocking him to the ground. The group then ran to the east, getting away with a wallet, cash, credit cards and a cell phone.

Two of the suspects in that incident are described as black males, 5’8″ to 5’10” and 180 pounds, ranging in age from 18-25 and wearing dark hooded sweatshirts. The third suspect is described as a skinny black male in his mid 20s wearing a black sweatshirt.

Shortly after that robbery, police were called to another incident in the downtown area that they believe could be related. Police say a man reported being approached by two suspects near Centennial Mall and M streets. Police say the victim was hit on the head by what appeared to be a black handgun. The suspects, a white male and a black male, got away with a wallet and some cash.

All of these incidents are still under investigation.
