A 59–year–old Lincoln man had the scare of his life late Saturday night when he was robbed at gunpoint inside his home.

It happened around 11 p.m. near 16th and C Streets.

Police say he went out for a short walk around the block and when he returned to his apartment, he wasn't alone.

“When he returned to his apartment he walked inside and suddenly realized that someone was behind him,” Officer Katie Flood said.

Police say the suspect pointed a handgun at the victim and forced him to lay face down while demanding his belongings.

“The victim complied by removing the items from his pockets.  The suspect then rifled through the living room before leaving the residence.”

Police say the suspect got away with his wallet, cell phone and some cash.  He also took off with a PlayStation and a video game.

Total loss is more than $500.

Investigators say the victim does not know the man and doesn't know why he was targeted.

Thankfully he wasn't injured.

Police are still looking for the suspect.  Anyone with any information is asked to call crimestoppers.
