Police Looking For Man Who Assaulted Teen

Police need your help looking for a man who they say sexually assaulted a teenager in broad daylight.  It happened on Saturday when a 14 year old girl was walking down the street on her way to a friends house.

Officials say the teen was just south of 27th and 'O' when a man approached her and started up a casual conversation.  When she attempted to leave he pulled her behind a building and sexually assaulted her on an exterior stairwell.

Officials say after the assault was over, he told the teen she could leave and she went to her friends and called police.

“This is an extremely disturbing to us for a number of reasons one it occurred in broad daylight near one of the busiest intersections in Lincoln to a young girl and this is extremely important for us to solve this case,” Officer Katie Flood said.

The man is described as a black male in his 20's, around 5'8 and 170 pounds.  He had short hair and was wearing a red jacket and jeans at the time of the assault.

Lincoln Police don't have any suspects at this time.
