Lincoln police recover a stolen car after they pull over the driver.  Police say the driver of the stolen car is also suspected of driving off from a gas station after filling up his tank.

Officers pulled over 18-year-old Benjamin Abney while he was driving the stolen 2001 Lincoln.  They spotted Abney a little after 11 Sunday night near 11th and B streets.

Police say he took the car over the weekend off the lot of Supreme Auto Sales on 49th and Cornhusker highway.

Police also suspect Abney stopped by a gas station near 32nd and Cornhusker highway to fill up his tank and then drove off without paying.

Police estimate the value of the car to be around $1, 500.  Abney was lodged in jail for possession of stolen property.
