A porch fire kept crews busy Wednesday night.

It happened near 26th and Sumner Streets.

The fire spread a grill to the houses porch. The fire did not spread to the inside of house.

Everyone inside was able to get out safely.

“Apparently, the occupants were grilling on the back porch and must have forgotten about it and that’s what caused the fire,” said Battalion Chief Jeremy Gegg.

Residents of the home will be able to stay.

So far, there is no word on damage estimates.
