UPDATE: Power restored; underground cable to blame

UPDATE: LES says power was restored at around 12:10 p.m. A bad underground cable was to blame for the outage.

Lincoln Electric System reports a power outage that includes parts of downtown.  LES spokeswoman Kelly Porter says the outage affects customers from 2nd to 17th, A to N streets.

Crews are on their way to restore power. There's no word on what caused the outage.  Porter says the power should be back on by 12:30 p.m. or so.
