Red Cross needs help to help those in need
An increase in the number of fires during November and December is taking a toll on financial resources at the American Red Cross.
In the last six months nearly 50 fires have forced over 130 people out of their homes. American Red Cross volunteers help families by providing emergency shelter, food, water, clothing and even toys for the children that have been displaced from their homes. And this year the RedCcross has responded to more than double the normal amount of fires…causing a drastic need for financial contributions.
“We're really worried about coming into the new year and being ready to provide our financial assistance,” CEO Randall Jones said.
The Red Cross not only helps families but firefighters as well. They provided hot food and drinks for the Firefighters that responded to the Romantix fire downtown.
