Reportedly drunk man hits motorcycle, leaves 2 with serious injuries

Authorities arrested a man on several charges after he reportedly hit a motorcycle, injuring two people, and fled the scene.

Lincoln police officers responded to the crash Saturday night near N 48th and Benton Street. Witnesses reported seeing the driver and passenger of a Dodge Avenger flee the scene after hitting a motorcycle with two people on it, police said.

Police located the driver, identified as 29-year-old Travis Williams, at his home and arrested him for leaving the scene of an injury accident and DUI causing serious bodily injury. Police said he had a BAC of .139, and has two prior DUI convictions.

Police said a 42-year-old man suffered traumatic injuries and a 40-year-old woman had life-threatening injuries after Williams reportedly hit their motorcycle while making a left turn in front of them. The victims, who have not been identified, were found lying unresponsive on the ground, police said.
