Rev. Leach Out On Bond
A prominent Lincoln Reverend was in Lancaster County Court Friday. Reverend Norman Leach is accused of sexually assaulting a child. He was arrested Thursday. He's facing charges of third degree sexual assault, a misdemeanor crime.
Reverend Leach showed no emotion Friday as he entered the courtroom. A judge set bond for Leach at 10-percent of 25-thousand dollars. A judge also ordered Leach not to have contact with any children under 16 years old. He must also stay in Lancaster county.
Leach is accused of sexually abusing a 15-year-old boy who was part of a boy scout troop Leach sponsored by the Interfaith Council. Friday, Leach bonded out and walked out of the Lancaster County courthouse. Police reports also released show that police interviewed Leach about the allegations on March 11th the documents state… “Leach was interviewed and informed that some boys in the scout troop had told police that they had been inappropriately touched. Police say Leach nodded his head in the affirmative. Leach told police he has a problem and he has been seeking counseling for that problem. He did not deny responsibility for the sexual assault.”
Leach would not comment on the investigation as he left the courthouse. Leach will be back in court on March 15. Back in February, Leach resigned as Executive Director of the Interfaith Council. The Interfaith Council sponsored the boy scout troop of which boys were members.
