Roads Close In Nebraska City
Roads closures along the Missouri river have now made getting out of Nebraska City almost impossible.
That's because all lanes on Highway 2 leading into Iowa are now closed due to flooding. It starts at I-29 in Fremont county and continues across the Missouri river into Nebraska City.
Officials made the decision to shut down Saturday night. Brad Moyer says he now has to jump through hoops to see his parents who live across the river. “You know, I can't go see them…I can't see my father on father's day unless we want to drive 50 miles round trip. You know, they stop in here frequently. We can't do that anymore, they can't see their grand kids,” Moyer says.
No word on when roads will reopen…officials are expecting these closures to be long term.
