A rollover crash in downtown Lincoln Sunday afternoon sent two people to the hospital.

It happened near 10th and L Streets around 4p.m. Two cars were involved. A blue SUV ended up on its side.

Witnesses who saw the collision went to help. 23-year-old Daniel Blake held the SUV up while his friend pulled a young boy out. Another friend called 911. Blake said when Lincoln Fire & Rescue arrived, crews needed to extricate a female driver.

“It was sort of sobering to see that happen in front of you,” Blake said. “I was just hoping that the woman was okay. I never done that before, so it was kind of ‘what do I do?'”

Parts of 10th Street were blocked off for about an hour.

It’s unknown what caused the collision at this time, but police say the two people taken to the hospital are expected to be okay.
