Doll Selected for NCAA III Golf Nationals
LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska Wesleyan University senior Rory Golf was one of five individuals selected for the 2014 NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championships when the field was announced on Monday (May 5) by the NCAA III men’s golf national committee.
The 2014 NCAA DIII Championships will be held May 13-16 at Grandover Resort in Greensboro, North Carolina hosted by Guilford College. A total of 210 participants will compete at the 2014 championships.
Doll earned the bid to nationals as one of the top five players in the country that were not qualified with a team. Nebraska Wesleyan did not earn an At-large berth to the NCAA III Championships for the first time in 10 seasons.
Rory Doll (SR, Nipomo, Calif.) will be playing in his fourth straight NCAA III Championship. Last season, Doll placed 21st overall and was in fifth place after the first two rounds as he made the cut as an individual player. Earlier this spring, Doll won the 2014 GPAC Championship and was named GPAC Player of the Year. He is a four-time All-Conference golfer.
As a senior, Doll had a scoring average of 74.0 and had six top five individual finishes. He is currently ranked No. 25 in NCAA III in golfstat scoring rankings. Doll was a four-time GPAC Golfer of the Week in 2013-14.
