Royals Lose Again

(Kansas City, Missouri-AP) — Eric Bedard and David Newhan highlighted Baltimore's 10-to-1 pounding of Kansas City. Bedard worked six and a-third shutout innings, allowing just five hits and a walk. He improved to 3-and-2 by outpitching Darrell May.

Newhan had three hits, including a two-run homer that put the Orioles ahead 4-to-0 in the fifth.

Miguel Tejada also had three hits and two RBI as the O's ended a seven-game road losing streak.

Brian Roberts and Javy Lopez each added two hits and two RBI to the win. May slumped to 5-and-9, giving up six earned runs and eight hits in six-plus innings.
