Salvation Army Needs Bell Ringers

The Salvation Army is counting on your Christmas spirit this year to help other families who may not be as fortunate. Bell ringing starts this Saturday, and it may be the most difficult year ever to reach their goal.

The big news this year was losing the Target locations. Each year they have been able to depend on 23-percent of the profits coming from those two stores. But, since Target said “no” to soliciting, many other Lincoln businesses came forward like Super Saver and Russ's Market

The Salvation Army kicked off their bell ringing campaign with the lighting of the Christmas tree on Wednesday. This year the Salvation Army hopes to raise the most money ever, $400,000. Because they have more locations they need more volunteers to man the extra spots.

The bell ringing begins this Saturday and lasts through December 3rd. If you would like to volunteer, you can pick your own day and time. The shifts are two hours. To sign up, log onto www.ringbells.org
