Registration opens for Salvation Army summer camps

Going to summer camp doesn't have to be expensive.  Each summer the Salvation Army sends hundreds of kids of all ages to day and overnight camps, at a fraction of the cost for families. Their funding comes from donations, and any amount makes a huge difference for a child's summer vacation.

“They don't have to sit at home and wonder why they didn't get to go when their friends got to go,” Mom of campers Tina Lengel said.

“We try to price it to make it so its accessible to everyone so we really rely on donations from the community to make it happen,” Karen Cullinan with the Salvation Army said.

Camp registration is open now and there are many different kinds available.
