New Sam’s Club brings more jobs to Lincoln

The new Sam's Club on the South side of town is making huge progress, not only in structure, but in hiring and training new employees.

Opening day is just two months away. The new Sam's Club on Highway Two is bringing 175 jobs to Lincoln, both full-time and part-time.

“We're looking for roughly 175 associates to hire, so far we've hired about 70. All positions from carts to supervisors to cashiers,” said Jon Rowe, Manager at Sam's Club.

Jon Rowe started working for the company 14 years ago. He says the jobs are perfect for anyone looking to start a career or just earn a little extra cash.

“Myself, I started in carts 14 years ago and I'm Club Manager today so we feel like we're offering great opportunities for advancement for all positions,” said Rowe.

Rowe says they're excited to offer convenience shopping to South Lincoln along with the new jobs. So far, he's seen applicants from Lincoln and even from outside the city. “We've had people from Nebraska City, Syracuse, lots of different surrounding communities,” he said. “We offer very flexile scheduling so I think that appeals to a lot of people.”

Sam's Club has a hiring center set up just South of where the new location will be, where you can stop in and fill out an application.

The grand opening is August 29th and they'll be hiring until all the positions are filled.
