Senator Nelson Helps Military Families Unite This Holiday Season

U.S. Senator Ben Nelson is launching a new project on his website. It's called “Hometowns to Heroes” and it lets Nebraskans send special holiday wishes to troops serving overseas. Senator Nelson's office was in Lincoln Friday helping families record their greetings. This is the first year of the project. Senator Nelson says it's his way of trying to help families be together over the holidays. For many military families, a video camera in a small room at the Nebraska National Guard Armory is all the face-to-face contact they'll get with their loved ones abroad this holiday season. Senator Nelson's website is already full of holiday greetings. It's easy to access at  You can email a 20-second home video to proudnebraskan@bennelson.senate.gov2.
