Sentencing Decision Set For Jose Sandoval On Monday

A three-judge panel is set to begin deciding Monday whether Jose Sandoval is sentenced to life in prison or death. Sandoval is one of four men convicted in a botched 2002 Norfolk bank robbery in which five people were killed. It was one of the deadliest bank crimes in U.S history. Last December, a jury found the circumstances of Sandoval's crimes to merit the death penalty. Under state law, the next step is for a three-judge panel to decide whether death or life in prison is appropriate for Sandoval.
