Serious Motorcycle Accident

A seven year old Hickman girl is fighting for her life, after an accident just south of Lincoln Wednesday afternoon. The girl was riding on her motorcycle with her father and brother, when they lost control, crashed into a mailbox, and then landed in a ditch. The girl's brother and father are also in the hospital as of Wednesday night .

The accident happened just north of the Roca Road and South 68th street intersection around four o'clock. Deputies tell Channel 8 Eyewitness News that three vehicles were heading north on 68th. The first car slowed down to turn into a driveway. Behind that car was a flat bed truck. That driver told Sheriff's Deputies he had to slam on his brakes and swerve into the other lane, because the car had stopped suddenly. Behind him, the motorcycle driver tried to do the same. However, the motorcycle clipped the flat bed truck sending it into a ditch. Deputies say the motorcycle driver was a man from Hickman. His daughter, who suffered life threatening injuries was transported by Star Care Five to Bryan LGH. Her brother, who was in the side car of the motorcycle and her father were transported by ambulance. All three were wearing their helmets.
