Sex offender going door-to-door

Police in Ralston arrested a man for selling magazines door-to-door without a permit _ only to discover he's a registered sex offender from Oregon. Police recently arrested 25-year-old Robin Douglas following a complaint that he didn't have a required city permit to sell.

While in custody, officers conducted a background check and found Douglas was registered as a sex offender in Roseburg, Ore., and was wanted for violating parole and other charges. Now, Douglas faces a federal charge of failing to register in Nebraska as a sex offender. Douglas appeared in Omaha's federal court on Wednesday.

He's being held without bond at a local jail until he can be tried. Douglas will be taken to Oregon to face additional charges once his federal case ends.
