Shaking Off Texas

Nebraska players and coaches are still trying to shake off a Texas-sized hangover from their loss to the Longhorns.

Missed tackles, dropped passes and everthing else that went wrong were the popular topics at the weekly media luncheon that seemed more like a pity party. Of secondary importance was the fact the No. 14 Cornhuskers are hitting the road to play 17th-ranked and unbeaten Oklahoma State on Saturday.

Safety DeJon Gomes said the Huskers must forget the loss, even if the rest of the folks in this football-crazy state can't. Coach Bo Pelini said he counted 28 missed tackles to go with eight dropped passes, four of which would have gone for touchdowns. Pelini said it might have been the worst tackling game he's ever been a part of.
