Two women in Lancaster County learned a hard lesson when their purses were stolen.

Sheriff Terry Wagner says it's simple, don't leave valuables in your unlocked car.  He says over the weekend, purses were taken from cars in two separate incidents.  In Malcolm and Hickman, the victims left purses unattended in their cars.  A large amount of cash, jewelry, credit cards and identification were taken.

“I think the message here is not to leave your valuables in an unlocked vehicle, even if it's in your garage,” says Sheriff Terry Wagner.

Just last week we told you how some crooks went into garages and stole items in cars.. And in one case, even got the key to the house.
