Sheriff’s officers reinstated following crash investigation

Two officers involved in last week's pursuit that led to a fatal crash are back on the job following an internal investigation.

Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner says Deputy Ronald Boden and Sgt. Thomas Brookhouser were reinstated Tuesday following completion of an internal investigation.

On August 23rd, 17-year-old Damon Wilson died following a pursuit that began near his mother's home near NW 91st and West O.  The Sheriff's office says Wilson crashed into a pickup and died on Highway 34 in Seward County.  In the 911 recordings, Wilson's mother told the dispatcher that Damon had broken windows and her television in her apartment and that he had a machete.  She also told the dispatcher Damon doesn't know how to drive.

As required by state law, a grand jury will investigate the incident.  Sheriff Wagner says details of the internal investigation is not released to the public.
