Simants to stay at Regional Center

A Lincoln judge says a man who killed six people nearly 40 years ago, is going to stay in a state Psychiatric hospital.
Erwin Charles Simants will stay at the Lincoln Regional Center; he’s been there since 1979, when he was found not guilty of the killings by reason of insanity.
Simants shot and killed six members of a western Nebraska family back in 1975.
Doctors testified he’s no longer mentally ill, but the judge says he poses a threat to the public if released.
