Smoking Ban Vote Delayed
The decision on whether or not Lincoln will become smoke free in public workplaces has been delayed.
The City Council voted Monday to delay their final decision until next Monday. Council member Jonathan Cook is out sick, and council members said that out of respect for him, they'll wait.
Earlier Monday they discussed the exact wording of the proposal. Just last week, the council approved a compromise amendment that would require restaurants and bars to establish a well-ventilated room for smokers. However the Health Department has said Monday night that only a complete ban would protect Lincolnites. The city council is also considering several other amendments.
