Soldiers Headed To Afghanistan

There was another soldier send-off at the Lincoln air base on Friday. 

This time 9 members of the Army National Guard will leave their families behind and head to Afghanistan.

The governor along with fellow soldiers and their families were there for support.

Members of the guard will leave on Saturday.

Their destination: Afghanistan.

Their mission: operation enduring freedom.

Six pilots and three air support staff will head out first thing tomorrow morning.

They will be providing air transportation for military and special equipment, they'll being flying the skies of Afghanistan on a regular basis for six months.

The soldiers will stop in Georgia for deployment training and then it's on to Afghanistan.
