Lincoln Police say a three-hour standoff that forced the lockdown of several Lincoln schools has ended peacefully. Police say the standoff started after they were involved in a high speed chase with a suspect who threatened a woman at Hamilton College with a gun. Police say the man was involved in a disturbance with a woman at the school and may have been suicidal. The chased ended at a home near 27th and E streets where the man barricaded himself inside. Police negotiators eventually talked the man out without incident. He only had some cuts on his arms because he broke windows to get inside the home. A Hamilton College spokesman said the man was carrying a gun in the alley and Lincoln Police also report the man was armed. The schools were locked down as a security measure.
