State Fire Marshall Releases Cause Of The Wood River Fire
Smoking in an oxygen-enriched environment is what the State Fire Marshal's office says caused the house fire in Wood River. Last weekend's blaze killed three people, including two firefighters, who tried to save 73-year-old Anna Carrig who was trapped inside. Fire officials say carrig had been on oxygen 24-hours a day for health reasons. Her funeral was February 18 and the firefighters funerals are Feb. 19th at the Wood River Rural High School's gymnasium. 38-year-old fire captain Ken Woitalewicz died Feb. 10th. Fellow fire fighter, 37-year-old, Robert Heminger died Feb. 15th.
