LINCOLN, Neb. - Nebraska baseball opened up fall practice on Thursday. The Huskers will host Wichita State on Saturday, Sept. 23, in an exhibition.

"NCAA gave the opportunity to do those two games that don't count against your 56-game schedule and then we just kind of kept an open mind," coach Darin Erstad said. "So everybody's kind of searching like what are we going to do, first time really doing it, and just through talking, different things came up and we ended up with Wichita State and Kansas, so we're excited to host those guys."

Nebraska also plays Kansas on Oct. 6, before hosting the Red-White series on Oct. 19, 26 and 27.
