Zipline issues proclamation offering free beer to furloughed workers
A local brewing company is tapping into legislation to aid thirsty federal employees during the government shutdown.
Zipline Brewing Company issued a faux proclamation - dubbed the Growler Relief Act of 2019 - offering a free drink to any furloughed federal worker each Friday until the shutdown ends.
The proclamation, issued via email, pokes fun at the shutdown, saying in part that the United States government "failed to get its act together and keep the country running on schedule."
Zipline says the offer is good at all of the company's locations in Lincoln and Omaha.
