UPDATE: Man arrested for role in brawl at northeast Lincoln restaurant
One man was taken to the hospital after being shot by a security guard during a brawl at a northeast Lincoln restaurant early Sunday morning, according to Lincoln Police.
The 32-year-old man is in stable condition after being shot in the shoulder outside La Cabana near 33rd and Cornhusker, police spokeswoman Officer Angela Sands said.
A crowd of men who didn't want to leave after the restaurant closed at 2 a.m. began a fight with security guards in the parking lot, Sands said.
That's when officials believe the man was shot in the shoulder.
Carlos Sanchez, 28, was arrested for terroristic threats and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.
Sanchez reportedly had a knife and was one of the men attacking the guards, Sands said.
At this time, the security guard is not facing criminal charges.
LPD said there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
