Two people are displaced after a fire broke out at an apartment fire in north Lincoln.

Lincoln Fire and Rescue responded to the fire at the Argosy Apartments at 5300 R Street around 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Callers reported smoke and flames coming from a unit on the third floor.

"Looked like just damage to the affected apartments so no other damages to the building, the fire was quickly extinguished and contained," LFR Captain Rick Schneider said.

No injuries were reported.

The fire only affected one unit, and all other residents will be able to stay in their homes.

An LFR spokeswoman said one cat was found dead in the apartment.

Fire inspectors determined the fire was electrical in nature and caused around $80,000 in total damages.
