Nana Akenton is leaving the Nebraska basketball program.

The sophomore guard made the announcement on Twitter Wednesday afternoon.

"My teammates will be my brothers for life and Lincoln will always hold a special place in my heart," Akenton said in the Tweet.

Akenton was suspended indefinitely at the end of last season, missing the Big Ten Tournament and NIT. He averaged 4.3 points off the bench last season, scoring a career high 18 points against Mississippi Valley State.

Nebraska now has six scholarship players on its roster, including Isaiah Roby as he weighs his NBA options.
