Lincoln man arrested for child abuse, animal cruelty
Lincoln Police arrested a man after he allegedly injured a puppy and struggled with officers.
Officers responded to a call from the man's girlfriend around 9:30 p.m. Sunday of an intoxicated man causing a disturbance near 25th and R Street.
The man, identified by police as Renaldo Gonzalez, 37, was slamming doors and yelling, scaring the victim's 5-year-old son, the woman reported. At one point, Gonzalez picked up a 6-month-old puppy and threw it at some concrete stairs, police said.
Gonzalez was uncooperative when officers tried to handcuff him, police said.
Gonzalez was arrested for child abuse, animal cruelty and resisting arrest.
