A Lincoln seventh grade English class received a treat for their hard work this quarter, courtesy of the Lincoln Police Department.

The class at Mickle Middle School got an end of the year pizza party!

Their teacher applied for the Lincoln Police Department literacy project, and the class was selected as the winner.

Officers came to school to lead a discussion in the library about the book.

"When they heard that they were entered for this pizza party and that LPD was coming in to do this book review with them they were cheering, so they were definitely pretty pumped," said Lorie Covington, 7th grade teacher at Mickle Middle School.

The special treat was saved as a surprise for the kids' last week of school.
