State Baseball: Norris, Waverly, Seward and Hastings in first round
Norris 5, Elkhorn 2:
The Titans erased a 2-1 deficit in the top of the fourth by turning up the bats in the bottom frame. Colbey Behrends grabbed the save for Norris as the Titans responded from this week's district final loss.
Waverly 4, Mount Michael 3:
In a rematch of the district final, the Vikings took a while to get the bats going once again. But a fifth inning rally helped Waverly climb out of a 3-0 hole and set the stage for Treyton Kozal's walk-off RBI double in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Hastings 12, Seward 2:
Seward got out to an early 2-0 lead as Brett Meyer ignited the offense with a leadoff double, but the Tigers continued their momentum from the district final win over Skutt, exploding for 12 runs, including a two-run homer, to finish the game in six innings.
